Standards of Behavior/Code of Conduct

The school and the Greater Latrobe Clay Target Team believe that participation in our sport is a privilege which is accompanied by student and parent responsibilities. 

• We promise to follow all the rules outlined by the State High School Trap League and those that the gun club and school have adopted. 

• We will follow the coaching staff’s directions at all times, for the safety of everyone. 

• We will be respectful of all fellow team members, coaching staff, range safety officers, and opponents at all times and represent the school with pride and integrity whenever participating in a High School Trap Team League event or activity.

• We will display exceptional sportsmanship at all league events and team activities. Students and parents will avoid offensive gestures or language, accept decisions of contest officials, and display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat.

• We will keep our emotions and attitudes balanced.

• We will appreciate good accomplishments regardless of who attains them.

• We will respect the rights, beliefs, and property of others and treat others with courtesy and consideration.

• We will communicate openly, honestly and respectfully with coaches and volunteers. 

• We will discuss with the coaches any possible overlap that may occur with additional extra curricular activities and determine how to justify the situation.

• We will be fully responsible for our actions and the consequences of those actions.

• Students will wear and maintain the required team uniform anytime competing with the team or while attending any team or league event unless otherwise directed by the head coach.

• We understand that no one is more important, or less important, than any other members of the team.

• We promise to make safety the number one priority at all times.

Disrespectful behavior or any misuse or violation of these rules by a student or family member could result in suspension of the student’s shooting privileges with the team and possible permanent removal from the team’s roster. Disciplinary action due to a parent’s behavior is at the sole discretion of the Head Coach.
